The
proverb can be explained that a coward is afraid of anything and everything.
However a brave person is not afraid of any dangers and perils. This statement
is found in Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar', Caesar stated that cowards die many
times before their deaths. The valiant would never taste death but once.
The
proverb explains the fact that cowards are afraid of death and they experience
the pain of death whenever they think of death and whenever they face any
danger or crisis in life. Cowards fear for one or the other reason. They dread
on seeing some mishap or accident, they even dread to meet a distinguished
person. A coward runs away from any
danger. Cowards are so frightened to be in the dark. They dread seeing a fight
or murder. They are afraid of some spooky creatures. They are afraid of so many
things and instances. Being a coward is
a characteristic found within a person. It is built in a person from childhood.
Such persons normally seek others help
to get their work done.
A brave person on the other hand faces any
danger without fear and faces it boldly. Fearlessness is a characteristic
quality of a great hero. A small story will amplify this point. Captain Nelson,
a young lad was sitting alone one night
upon a hill. His mother asked him "have you no fear?" he replied,
"Mother, what is fear?" from childhood, he did not know what fear
was. The brave are so from childhood.
The
proverb thus signifies that cowards die
many times as they are so scared. The brave will face death only once that is
the real death. We should imbibe in
young children from childhood to be brave and bold and not be cowards. Such
brave persons are valued in society and have high regards and reach great
heights and positions in life.
