This saying is very true for good hearted people who are not the slaves of
worldly pleasures and desires. Such persons are the blessed ones and God too loves them. This is a
Biblical saying. Temptations are always attractive and they always lead to the
destructive path. When a person desires anything, he will do his best to own.
To do his best, in the sense that he may use even the meanest way to get that
thing. Temptations of the sensual pleasures persuade a person to do something
wrong. When a person does a wrong thing he loses the peace of mind. Lord
Krishna said in the holy ‘Geeta’ that when a desire is not fulfilled, it causes
anger and anger destroys the wisdom of a person.
That's why a person is called a blessed one who
does not desire. Who does not desire is always a happy man. Only those persons
are unhappy, discontented, sad and morose who always run after the desires,
even then they cannot fulfill them.
Yudhishthra
in Mahabharat said that, sacrifice all the desires and one would be the richest
and the happiest man of the world. That's why a person should resist the
temptations because it leads to the path of sin and sufferings. Blessed persons
are only those who do not give importance to the earthly pleasures and are not
the slaves of these petty desires.
