Better late than never

This a very popular proverb. The meaning is very easily implied in the proverb itself. This proverb tells us that it is better to do something that is profitable, right or good a little late in life rather than not doing it at all. A person fails in accomplishing some task , he may regret and feel sorry , but he should never lose hope, whenever another chance is confronted he should take advantage of the opportunity and accomplish the task, though it may be late in life.

It is wrong notion that people feel that only the youth can learn and do something. This is wrong, opportunities keep coming, it is only our keenness to tap the opportunity. One should never feel that one is old and cannot do something at this age or one does not have the capability to do something. If a person is willing and has the intuition, then he may surpass youngsters and may excel. There are many arts and skills like dancing, painting, art, music, reading, writing, playing musical instruments, sports for which there is no age for a person to learn. It may so happen that a person was too busy in his job or work that he never found any time to pursue some skill or art. Whenever in life when he gets the time and opportunity he should pursue the same and not think , that he is old or it is not the right age. A person should never waste his precious time and regret in life. A classic example is Adult education. We come across many people who in later life's pursued various degrees and qualifications. They have also excelled. A person having urge and keen desire , age will never block his ambition.

It is always better to change your career at any point in life, rather than just continuing with something you loathe. The founder of The Walt Disney Company started in life as a newspaper editor, he was fired from his job because he lacked imagination and did not have good ideas. Julia Child worked as a CIA intelligence officer, she later on realized her culinary skills and quit job. It was at the age of 36 that she switched career and is now a famed chef.

This proverb is therefore so relevant and speaks so much.
