As you sow so shall you reap

This proverb has its origination from the Bible. It is very simple to understand and the proverb itself is self explanatory. The proverb means that whatever your deeds, good or bad, you will be repaid accordingly. One will either enjoy or suffer the consequences of his earlier actions .

A person who does good deeds will always find happiness and will be rewarded accordingly. The proverb suggests that we are responsible for the consequences of our actions . If we are good in our deeds we will be rewarded accordingly. However if we commit sins and do wrong actions and do not behave properly we will have to bear the sufferings and pangs of misery for our bad deeds.

The proverb suggests that we ourselves are solely responsible for our deeds good and bad. Correlating this proverb to our everyday life we can say that a student who studies sincerely throughout the year will definitely bear the fruits of success, he will come out with flying colours and also be able to make a good career in his life. Similarly a businessman who toils day in and day out will find success in his ventures and will progress in life and will climb the ladders of success. A farmer who puts healthy seeds will see a bumber harvest.

On the other hand a student who spends majority of his time wandering and whiling away time unproductively and never studying will accordingly never succeed in life. A business man who expects windfall gains without toiling and struggling will never find success. A farmer who sows diseased and not good quality seeds will never get good harvest and crops.

Madam Curie is known today because of the effort she and her husband put in. We remember Florence Nightingale because of the love, affection and care with which she nursed the wounded soldiers.

This proverb is thus apt and means and signifies a lot. One must remember this proverb and follow all actions accordingly. If one wants success and happiness in life then one must accordingly put in effort and do good deeds.
