Actions speak louder than words

This proverb merely consists of 5 words but means a lot . The literal meaning emphasizes that; what people do reveals more about them, than what they say. This is an age old proverb and has a hidden meaning inside. Human nature is such that, people have the habit of boasting that they are going to do such and such thing which are highly exaggerated. People build castles in the air and like to boast without actually doing so. An individual should realize the fact that if his achievements are noteworthy, people will definitely come to know about the same, he need not boast about it. Great achievers and great persons are known by their actions and not by their words.

It is easy to speak and blabber , but how many of us act accordingly. Politicians make tall promises before elections, however they rarely act according to the talks. They conveniently forget the tall promises that they made. Their actions rarely are at par with their words. Words sound good but they should be accompanied with actions. It is our actions that prove that our intentions are genuine.

In earlier times a person's word was a matter of honor, even till his death. It was a matter of pride to keep up to one's promises which would reflect his genuineness. This can be proved by our great leaders and history is ample proof for such facts.

However, nowadays people make all kinds of big promises which they have little intention of keeping. People like to say nice thing to give a good impression of themselves, however they do not even feel ashamed of not abiding by their words. Such persons are common these days as they do not fear anyone. Unlike our forefathers who feared God and were afraid of being punished for wrong doings.

We can never trust a person who says one thing and does something totally different. On the other hand a person whose actions corresponds to what he preaches is highly respected.

A hidden meaning in this proverb is that if you want to achieve something, work hard towards your goal, your achievement and actions will go a long way in giving you success, name and fame. It is better to take a step ahead and work hard in achieving your dream rather than feeling proud about it.

This proverb is therefore very relevant and we must try to follow this proverb in true earnest. We too should develop the habit of matching our actions with words at all times.

the pride and respect that you will earn when this fact actually comes true. The day you come 1stin class, it will be known by one and all sooner or later.
